Employing Online Paraphrasing Tools to Overcome Students’ Difficulties in Paraphrasing

This study aimed to investigate the mechanical engineering vocational education students’ difficulties in making paraphrasing academic writing course and use of online tools overcoming those difficulties. The data were taken from two questionnaires distributed students regarding problems mentioned previously. items adapted Paraphrasing Strategy theory by Schuemann (2006), Kirszner (2008) which consists four strategies: 1) changing its synonym; 2) part speech; 3) sentence pattern active passive; 4) keep using keywords original text. revealed that most commonly used strategy was change synonyms with a percentage 69%.
